Trip Review: Back to the Bay Area

Weather was definitely not on my side this trip. I was flying JFK to SFO on Virgin America, and the flight was delayed 4 hours due to rain in Frisco. You suck rain.

Award wallet actually did a great job about keeping me updated so I arrived at the airport 2 hours before departure instead of 4. Priority pass also saved me as I spend most of that time at the Oasis Lounge eating and drinking away until a few minutes before boarding. I was also fortunate enough to be flying in main cabin select, so that meant free food and movies throughout the flight.

I ended up watching “Spiderman”, and “The Watch”, one of which was entertaining (I’ll let you figure out which one). RED entertainment system was awesome as usual, crew was super courteous, so what more could I ask for. Maybe a better seatmate but let’s not go there.

As soon as I touched down in San Francisco, it was a lot later due to the flight delay so I headed straight to J.W. Marriott to check in.

I had booked a base level room but thanks to my Marriott Platinum status, I was upgraded to a Pacific Suite on the 8th floor. It ended up being an amazing king bedroom suite with 2 baths, and double entrances. Easily one of the nicest rooms I’ve stayed in. I decided to check out what rates were like the next day for the suite directly on the Marriott website.

Can you say score? πŸ™‚

On top of this, they gave me lounge access so I had breakfast and snacks throughout the stay. The executive lounge wasn’t huge, but it was never too packed, and the staff kept the place very well maintained. Two thumbs up J.W. Marriott SF.
