Yahoo’s comments were so disconnected from reality that it almost makes me suspicious that the writer just wants other people to stop collecting credit card rewards so they don’t devalue further.

Your analogy of quitting a job because of inflation is spot on with pointing out how illogical their argument is. Of course, their argument would eventually make sense if miles became so devalued that everyone should do cash back, but we’re not anywhere near that point yet.
