Lisa, I’ve been looking into this, and the cruise industry hasn’t really made it way into the points & miles world yet. At least not something that’s really lucrative. The gaming industry also isn’t there yet, but it’s made a big difference over the past year with partnerships between M life and Hyatt, and Caesars and SPG.

If I hear of anything that’s outstanding regarding cruise deals, I will definitely post about it.

Asian-Sensation: please refer here for more detailed information, but I actually mis-informed. it was 25k AA miles.

basically Ameritrade at one time was offering bonus miles for funding a trading account. depending on how you deposited your money, you could potentially just cycle it through and keep earning bonus’ with different airline carriers. they have cracked down on this process, and I haven’t read up on it recently but it may still be available.
